The US would position its naval fleet at Pearl Harbor as a show of force against the Japanese expansion. With that incident, America became weary of Japanese expansion, and kept an eye on her, especially after Japan moved into Vichy Indochina, sparking US Embargo on Oil. After WW1, America would enter into isolationism, not wanting to get into any war, however, was alarmed after Japan invaded China, which caused a US Gunboat to be attacked, known as the Panay Incident. Annexation of the Hawaiian Kingdom was also a boost in American Pacific dominance, as America started to get into imperialism. In 1895, the Spanish-American war kicks off, and testing her great fleet, America would defeat the Spanish warships and capture Manilla, slowly capitulating the Philipino Republic in 1899. Soon, America began trading in the Pacific, with an expedition launch by Commodore Perry in 1853 to open up Japan. Its closest island is Island A.Īfter the Mexican-American War, the purchase of California would result in the United States gaining a sizable west coast. The United States of America is one of the two factions in Naval Warfare, the other being the Empire of Japan.
